MedTech West Summit announces new date of March 12, 2020

Ireland’s upcoming international medical technology conference, MedTech West Summit, has announced a new date of March 12, 2020. Originally scheduled for September 2019, organisers have chosen to move the event in order to ensure the best possible experience for delegates.

MedTech West Summit founder Stuart Dempsey explains the decision. “Since the recent official launch of the conference, the feedback from medical technology stakeholders has been overwhelmingly positive. As we engaged with various parties, including multinational organisations, SMEs and semi-state bodies, a particular query was raised on a number of occasions regarding the possibility of moving the conference to a date in Q1 2020. The rationale was simple – a revised date in the new year would provide better breathing space from existing events and allow MedTech West Summit to scale into a leading international medical technology conference.”

After examining the potential change of date more closely, MedTech West Summit organisers immediately recognised the benefits of moving the date of the conference. “When evaluating the potential new date of March 12, 2020, we liaised with our partners and supporters and quickly learned there was a strong consensus for the new date,” says Dempsey. “What this means is that we have an opportunity to attract even more international speakers and visitors than would otherwise have been possible, and ensure the best possible experience for our speakers, delegates and partners.”

Organisers have also confirmed that NUIG accelerator, BioExel, will be holding their investor pitching event on March 12 at The Galmont Hotel after MedTech West Summit concludes.

Partners announced for the conference to date include Arthur Cox, EY, NSAI and NUIG.
